What an awesome series! I’m envious that you got the chance to “shoot” these spectacular birds! Kudos, Linda!
Thanks John! I love the Hoodies. The males are so spectacular when they’re displaying. Can’t get enough of those beaufies!
Awesome images Linda of a beautiful bird:)
Thanks Cynthia. I’m always delighted to see these beautiful ducks. I think they’re gorgeous!
Fantastic shots, Linda. You must have enjoyed getting these photos.
Thanks for the compliment Scott! I loved watching them. Stayed until it was almost dark. 🙂
Fabulous series of images! That is a bird I can’t get enough of when they are here for the winter. They are so elegant.
Thanks Robin. I know exactly what you mean. Their plumage is just gorgeous!
I love these! Love your header up there too!
Thanks Lovely Dawn! I don’t know why it took me so long to figure out that I could match my header to every post. I like that feature very much. 🙂
Ha! These are wonderful..just ducky..Smiles!
Thanks Cindy, and I agree. Ducky indeed!! They are beautiful ducks.
Outstanding hoodie shots – one of my all time favorite birds. Love the natty dressed males!
When they dress for the occasion they do it right, don’t they? I think the Hoodies are just gorgeous!
Wow! Great shots Linda!
Thanks Steve. I appreciate the “Wow!” 🙂
Fabulous Linda! Just fabulous photos of the male displaying. That female sure got a lot of attention.
Thanks Donna. She surely did get lots of attention. There were 3 males vying for her attention. She seemed spectacularly unimpressed. 😉
Stunning photos of one of my favorite birds!!
Thanks Robbie! They’re one of my favorites too!
Fantastic captures! I think Hooded Mergansers are so very beautiful. Terrific behavioral shots! I always have a difficult time photographing these stunning ducks as they are so very shy. I can see you had no problem at all. Outstanding!
Thanks Julie. These boys have their party clothes on for sure. I’m fortunate in that the Rio Grande Nature Center has built large blinds on two different ponds, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get nearly so close. Happy you like the photos! 🙂
Superb shots Linda, congrats!
Thanks Mike. It was definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time!
Merganzers! One of my favorite winter water birds. Great shots, Linda. I saw you wave as you flew over. 🙂
Thanks Bob! Happy you like the photos. Those are very elegant ducks. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Big Bend!
