The Spotted Towhee. One of my personal favorites. At our blind at San Angelo State Park, he hides in the shrubs, dashes out to grab a sunflower seed, then runs back into cover before coming out for another tidbit.
I was fortunate to see this one sort of in the open at B de A. I have 4 or 5 of them at my house right now, but they spend most of their time in the shrubs. such handsome birds!
Wow – beautiful shots Linda – great close-ups of this beautiful bird.
Wonderful captures, Linda! This Towhee is SO gorgeous!!
Thanks Barbara and Cindy. I know they’re fairly common birds, but they’re soooo pretty!!
Great close-ups, Linda! I love the beautiful markings. Cool red eyes!
Nice to have all the different views – great bird!
Thanks! I was fortunate that it stayed around long enough for multiple shots. They usually hide in the underbrush.
